DAY 10 – CALA NOVA – SLUIZ – GERTRUDIS – DIMIS

Wow. Day 10 already! Today we start at Cala Nova Beach. Park (free and easy) and start – as always – with a Café Con Leche at the Atzaro Chiringuito (£2,4 – € 3). Atzaro is a crazy beautiful Agroturismo and Spa between Santa Eularia and St Lorenc and since a few years they also have a beach club and beach bar at Cala Nova.

Cala Nova is a Sandy Beach with some rocks. Rent a beach chair or lay on the sand. At Cala Nova there are often high waves so if you are lucky you can play in the water. Or if you feeling restless you can walk over the land to Es Canar Beach (right) or to the Cala Leyna Cove (left). For lunch there a choices enough but you walk to the far left of the beach where you find a charming little shack called Can Colomaret. Simple setting, no luxury, incredible fresh fish! Right out of the sea, via a 2m2 kitchen on your plate (Lunch for four ((£32 – €40).

Later, drive to Santa Gertrudis. On the road to Santa Gertrudis you will find Sluiz. Make a right when you see the plastic cows in the field and park next to the sign that says MILFS only or Gays Only or whatever. Sluiz is a fantastic large concept store. You can find anything from clothes, to chairs, to tableware to plastic crocodiles, coffins and so on… but even better you can also sit in the garden, order a beer and nachos and enjoy the calm.

From Sluiz to Santa Gertrudis is only a few minutes. Park in one of the small streets (free) and walk towards the church. Santa Gertrudis has become the eating capital of Ibiza with an incredible range of restaurants from traditional Bar Costa (if you like meat and bread with tomato) to sophisticated places like Macao Café. You go to tapas bar Dimis facing the church to your right. Dimis, which stands for Dirk and Michel, is a tapas bar with a twist with traditional Spanish tapas mixed with Oriental tapas.

Dimis has great deserts but you resist and stroll through Santa Gertrudis over the main square and buy an Ice cream at Zero Gradi. They have great ice creams but if you like you can also order a crepe with Grand Marnier…

Order an espresso and slowly walk back to your car…
